ubuntu ログイン時のメッセージが変、だった。

これは、以前からあったことだが、自鯖機（Ubuntu 10.04.02）にssh使ってログインした時に表示されるwelcomeメッセージ的なモノが表示されるのだが、それがちょっと変。　という事を認識した。

こんな感じで表示される。

同じような内容が２回、表示されている。
今まで何げにログインしていて、これらのメッセージはスルーしていたが、先日「これっておかしんじゃ」と思った。

で、「ubuntu ログイン時のメッセージ」検索してみた。
これで、いろいろみたところ「/etc/motd」が関連しているらしいことが分かった。
更に「ubuntu ログイン時のメッセージ motd」検索。
ずばりがあった。
　プログラミングメモ｜二重に表示されるウェルカムメッセージ

なんでも、/etc/motd.tail という使われなくなったファイルが残っていたのが問題だった、らしい。
で、ブログに載っているように

$ sudo mv /etc/motd.tail /etc/motd.tail.old

と当該ファイルをリネームして、無事フィックス。
ログインメッセージは普通になった。
